Frequently asked questions.

I’m a beginner, where should I start?

You’ve never done Pilates before? We’ve got you!

At the Tutti reformer studio it is best to start with a Tutti Foundation class! These classes aim to be achievable for every body, we keep the moves simple and we slow it down a notch for beginners.

Arrive to your booked class at least 10 mins early and let your instructor know that it’s your first time using a reformer, they will show you all the parts of the machine and the basics on how it works, this will help you move with the class as the instructor cues. Your instructor will keep an eye on you throughout to make sure you’re doing everything correctly. Once you’ve done a few Foundation classes and you feel comfortable you’re welcome to head into a Tutti Move class. The Tutti Stronger and Tutti Hustle are more aimed at an intermediate participant.

At the Tutti mat studio you’re welcome to come to any of our classes as we can modify for any needs throughout, we always offer layers and modifications throughout so you get to choose how you do each movement.

Can I come to Tutti if I’m pregnant?

Yay! Congratulations 🧡

We absolutely encourage our pregnant women to continue moving throughout their whole pregnancy. Te benefits for you mind, body, labour and recovery are incredible.

Here are a few modifications that we offer throughout your pregnancy:

Once you get beyond 20 weeks and find it harder to be on your back for long periods we offer a bolster in the mat studio or pregnancy wedge in the reformer studio to keep you slightly elevated.

We encourage you to find a spot close to the fans or a/c to make sure you don’t over heat.

Any exercises on your stomach can become uncomfortable later on, we can easily change these for you throughout.

And lastly, we remove any falls risks by aiming to keep you on the floor at the reformer studio rather than standing on the moving surface.

We know that everything else is safe for our pregnant people, including doing abdominal exercises, but we also know that everyone is different and feels differently about doing certain movements.

So, most importantly we need you to communicate with the instructors what you need modifications for as your pregnancy progresses, we know that each pregnancy is different and people feel pain or are unable to do certain movements at all different points in their pregnancy. If there’s anything you don’t want to do/find uncomfortable let us know at the beginning of class so that we can change movements throughout to help you keep moving throughout our classes.

What do I need to bring?

You will need a drink bottle, a towel for the sweaty Betty’s and your beautiful self!

Wear comfy clothes that you can move in, lycra is not essential to participate in Pilates ;)

In the reformer studio we require that you wear grippy socks for safety (extra grip) and cleanliness (hands and feet go in the same straps, feet are sometimes gross). These are available for purchase at the studio for $20

I’ve done an intro offer, what next?

You did an intro offer and suddenly you’re a Pilates addict! Our most economical option is an ongoing membership. One, two, three or unlimited classes per week, charged weekly. Classes carry over to the next week for 4 weeks, meaning you have one month to use your allocated classes.

Class packs are slightly more expensive, but they are more flexible with 12 months to use a 5, 10 or 25 class pack

I’m going on holiday, how do I pause my membership?

Reach out to us at least one week prior to your holiday so that we can schedule in your pause dates. A pause works so that your membership literally freezes between the dates you give us. If you don’t want a payment to come out prior to your pause date you need to pause prior to your payment day, rather than the first day of your holiday.

If a payment comes out prior to your holiday, your membership will pause between dates given and continue on so that there is still a 7 day gap between payments. Please keep in mind that this may change your membership weekly renewal day.

Can I bring my child to class?

Babies and children are most welcome at our Tutti x Baby classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at our reformer studio at 10.15am.

Unfortunately, any other classes cannot accomodate for children. We know your child is the most well-behaved, sweetest thing who will simply sit in the corner and not say a word, but we also know realistically in a new environment this is almost never true. It is distracting and unfair for other participants and for our instructors. Please leave your little cherubs at home or book into our Tutti x Baby classes.
